How Is It Legal?
Psilocybin is a controlled substance. A mushroom is not — it is controlled because of what it contains. Our non-detect line is cultivated so the psilocybin is never there to begin with.
What this page covers. This explains the legal basis for our non-detect mushroom line — a specific range of products cultivated to contain no psilocybin.
What “non-detect” actually means
Non-detect is a laboratory result, not a marketing word. It means that when a sample is tested using validated analytical methods, psilocybin is not present above the limit of detection.
This is achieved through cultivation, not by processing psilocybin out after the fact. The strain is grown to express the mushroom’s other naturally occurring compounds without producing psilocybin.

Remove the scheduled compound and the federal basis for control goes with it.
Why the distinction matters in law
The federal Controlled Substances Act schedules compounds. Psilocybin and psilocin are listed in Schedule I. The mushroom itself is not listed as an organism — mushrooms containing psilocybin are controlled because of the psilocybin in them, not because of the species they belong to.
That is the entire argument, and it is why laboratory verification matters more here than anywhere else on this site.
Every batch is tested
Each production batch is tested by an independent third-party laboratory.
A non-detect claim is only as good as the testing behind it.

State law is not uniform
Federal scheduling is only part of the picture. States write their own controlled substances laws, and a number of them use broader language than the federal statute — regulating the fungus or material derived from it rather than the compound alone.
Where a state has written its law that way, a non-detect product may still be restricted there regardless of its psilocybin content. We ship only where we are able to, but you are responsible for knowing the law where you live. If you are unsure, check your own state’s controlled substances schedule before ordering.
What this page is not
This is an explanation of how our non-detect products are made and why that affects their legal classification. It is not legal advice.
These products are intended for adults 21 and over.
